Om arrangementet
Please join the Twin Cities Deaf* Community for a family-friendly celebration of ASL and Deaf culture with a captivating Visual Vernacular performance by Justin Perez. Visual Vernacular is a visually dynamic art form, primarily performed by Deaf artists, that uses cinematic storytelling techniques with elements of ASL poetry. This performance will not be fully interpreted into spoken language, as its rich visual, spatial, and accessible nature is best experienced in its original form and is often lost in translation.
The performance is conducted in ASL; spoken English interpreters will be provided, but their use will be minimal.
Share this invitation with family and friends! All are welcome to this free event.
This event is cosponsored by the American Sign Language (ASL) Program in the College of Education and Human Development (CEHD) in partnership with the Deaf Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Task Force.
